mwz: Day 67

I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night, Frances has a cold. So, I skipped the morning swim.

But I made up for it this evening at my lessons. There were only two of us there (and the other one just kinda hangs out with the life guards). That meant that I could swim full laps (since there weren't people learning in the shallow end).

I wish I would have kept count of my laps because I'm sure that was the farthest I have ever swam. I went for pretty much 45 minutes (occasionally stopping to catch my breath). I alternated between the crawl and the breast stroke. Basically, when my crawl form would break down because I was tired, I would do the breast stroke. I only did about one and a half laps on my back.

I got some good pointers about my breast stroke (basically, I was still doing it wrong but wrong in a better way). And I asked about how much I was supposed to be rotating during the crawl. I concentrated on not crossing my arms in the crawl (as Mrk mentioned to me on the phone) and that helped a lot.

I really felt like those two strokes started to click in place. That's pretty encouraging.
