mwz: Day 4

This morning I got up early and ran 2 miles (23:15). I felt pretty good during the run (especially since the second time out usually sucks pretty bad). But when I got in the house I felt pretty nauseous. I don't know if it had to do with the cold or what. It snowed while I was running. Not enough to stick though.

I saw my doctor today and she seemed to think that the triathlon was a good idea (unlike some parents).

We got a membership to the YMCA tonight. Tomorrow, I'll start swimming.

Later tonight, I plan to have some ice cream. I don't care.

mwz: Day 3

Today, I did 225 sit-ups and 120 push-ups. In a sitting I do 75 sit-ups and 40 push-ups. I do two or three of those sessions a day for each work day (one set before breakfast, one before lunch and sometimes one right after I stop working for the day. I'm going to stop recording those. Just assume that I did them if it is during the week.

BTW, I went to the USAT website and it sucks. They have a calendar of events but it only contains 2005 information. I suppose I could just assume that the 2005 events will be repeated but still. 2006 is only a month away.

I do have to say that the Lake Zurich Triathlon page is worse. It has some sort of applet that I think is supposed to make the water shimmer in a picture (but I can't tell because it doesn't work right in FireFox). It just makes the page load unbearably slow.

The Chicago Triathlon page is much better.

Both of those races require USAT membership (or a day pass).

UPDATE: I just remembered, I didn't eat a bowl of ice cream tonight. That has to count somehow.

mwz: Starting Point

I'm not sure how well this is going to go but I'll give it a shot.

Last night (Nov. 27): Ran 2 miles in 23:48

Today: 150 sit-ups and 80 pushups (which isn't special, that's just what I've been doing lately).

I weigh 216 lbs (so now you know that I'm fat and slow).

I need to work out some exercises (aka weight training) that will prepare me for the swimming part. There don't seem to be any public, indoor pools near where I live.

Oh, and I need similar bike workouts since I don't have one of those either.

I'm all prepared for a triathlon, minus the swimming, biking and running for long distances...
